DCBC Meeting: Hive Splitting Field Demonstration – June 10th
June 20 @ 1:30 pm

Have you ever thought it was time to split one of your hives due to high population – especially in an over-wintered colony? We have had to make a change in our June meeting program and felt it would be timely to do a field demonstration on splitting. This meeting will be held at Mark Lentz’s apiary, where he and Max will demonstrate splitting over-wintered hives. Time permitting, we hope to complete two splits. The meeting is being held on a Saturday afternoon to accommodate everyone’s schedule and take advantage of low mid-day hive population. Please note that this field demonstration will replace the regular June 20th evening meeting at the Crossroads.

Follow Hwy 57 north and turn left on County Road C heading north. Go 5 miles to County Road K and turn right. The driveway will be 1 mile on your right.
Watch for the club feather banner at the drive and proceed up the lane. Once you arrive, look for direction and parking signs. The hives are located in pastures, and you will be able to park close to the demonstration area. We anticipate that this demonstration will last about 90 minutes. It will be an excellent opportunity for hands-on experience. Questions: contact Mark at 920-948-0090 or mclentz55@gmail.com.
