DCBC Meeting: Planting For Pollinators – February 15
February 15, 2022 @ 6:30 pm
Topic: Planting For Pollinators
Presenter: Coggin Heeringa
We are excited to have Coggin Heeringa, Interpretive Naturalist at Crossroads, presenting at our February meeting. This talk will focus on improving plant biodiversity in order to support pollinating insects. Here is an introduction to her talk: “We frequently read statistics (some accurate) about how important honeybees (and our native wild bees) are to humans because they pollinate crops. Pollinating insects are vitally important, not just for crops, but for sustainable ecosystems on which we all depend. But just as flowering plants depend on pollinators, insects depend on visiting the appropriate flowering plants.”
