2026 Beginning Beekeeping Class

Do you like the sweet taste of natural, local honey? Are you interested in gardening, pollinators, or science? Have you ever wondered what honey bees do to survive the cold winter months in Door County? The Door County Beekeepers Club will host a Beginning Beekeeping Class on Saturday, January 24th, at the Peninsular Ag Research Station, 4312 HWY 42, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235. The class will be held from 8:00 AM to 1200 PM.
For those interested in the fascinating hobby of honeybees and honey production, this class will provide a general overview of the hobby and discuss equipment, how to obtain bees, colony management, and hive components.
The class is open to all ages and has a registration fee of $25 per individual or $40 per family, and is payable at the class. Materials and information will be provided to all participants, and also includes a 1-year membership in the Door County Beekeepers Club. It is highly encouraged to register in advance, and registration will also be available on the day of the class.
