DESCRIPTION:Sue Dompke\, owner of Sweet Mountain Farm\, will be speaking at our monthly meeting.  Sweet Mountain Farm\, LLC\, an apiary on Washington Island\, breeds Russian honeybees and builds northern white cedar beehives. The presentation traces Russian honeybee history\, offers documented USDA research about the species characteristics to understand why its genetic markers are significant in mite resistance\, hygienic behavior\, managing resources effectively\, and cold hardiness.
